Whose Habitat is this?

Many a times, I feel helpless while searching the answer for the question “whose habitat is this?” Is it belongs to me and my family or I have invaded into the boundaries of the myriad number of living creatures that used to find habitat in this place.
We the human beings, the most intelligent creature as they say, have decided on the adage that to live life, a normal person requires only three things: Food, Shelter and Cloth. We never thought what other living creatures would require to live, in fact if I now think on their necessities then it is only Food and Shelter and at the present time, in the reign of human being they are being neglected with their basic requirements. No food as land is going infertile gradually and lots of polluted water for them. They are living but only in man’s land (our closets) mostly with Mortein rat killer, HIT, All Out, Good Night  etc to name a few. Those who remain out of our buildings are either vanished or going to extinct soon.  It’s not that they are invading us but we should realize the fact that the place we are living in is for all creatures and we are the intruding their space.
First, we cut the forest for our sake, and then shouting for global warming. We polluted the space and then raising concerns for the harmful effects of radiations and calling ourselves pro-active. In the whole process we concentrated on I, MY, OUR benefits only. Why don’t we talk about the other creatures as well? Electromagnetic Radiations & Global warming no doubt harm us but it is destroying the complete race of the pigeons and badly affecting the polar animals like polar bear. Why don’t we talk about them also?
We are not givers so how can we become takers. Though it is a fact that we wouldn’t like to spend a penny on the same but we can contribute to it by saving papers. Millions of Billions papers are used in our daily life produced by cutting same number of trees, which are critical for all living creatures; we can save them, so start from now, save paper.
If you want to write a note use laptops or other digital things; if you want to transact money do it through ATM or online processes as far as it is possible; if you want to fill up the form please do it online; if you want to send a mail why don’t it be an e-mail; if you want to get information about an institute please go online; through all these small changes we can contribute a lot, believe me small things when combined together make a big impact.
 Save Paper, Save Trees.

Every other day my father tells me about the lush green around our house, about the dense forest nearby on the bank of the river, about the different shades and types of birds, about their (he and his brother) morning jog in the purest form of environment. Every time I get excited experiencing the ambiance and nature through his real time narration but the moment I come out of the hallucination, I find myself distressed and cheated by the older generation for there are no more forest, no more lush green surrounding, no more shades and types of birds, no more grounds to play but houses and buildings wherever my sight rests. I am sure my next generation would feel more distressed than I am if something is not done.
Science has done wonders for humankind but it has also taken a lot, for the comfort with mobile phones, electro-magnetic waves penetrate and harm the body, for the comfort and luxury of vehicles, the burnt gases and ashes are polluting the environment, for the use of paper the science has taken trees from our surroundings. Government of different nations sit together on issues like global warming, reduction of carbon foot-prints, prohibition of placing mobile towers in residential areas but nobody is talking on chopping down of the trees. People must understand that carbon foot-print will automatically get reduced when there will be enough trees to soak that carbon and produce oxygen, this would not only help in maintaining healthy ambiance but also in checking global warming.
Today, society as a whole must commit to save trees and thus greenery. It is not that every body should plant a tree nearby but to reduce the usage of matters made by cutting down the trees. It takes around nine trees to cut to make 300 fine pages. In this digital world when people want even their photographs in digital form why not digitize the application process of the organizations. Let our next generation taste the fresh air, play on the branches of a tree and learn to love the nature.

As it goes in ‘3 Idiots’, scientists invented a pen for astronauts by expending thousands of crore of rupees that can write at any angle and at any pressure in space; I say why the hell scientists invented this, when the world is digitized!! Why not store data in the electronic mode, what’s the need of writing and wasting papers in space too, seems ridiculous.
Our ancestors used ‘Taad Patra’ and ‘Kamal Dandi’ for writing and communication purposes, which was very much close to nature as compared to present paper and pen methods. Taad Patra was made up of leaves of tree (not tree itself) and instrument for writing were not made up of plastic. A tree in its whole life produces more than a billion of leaves that can be used over a period of time thus fulfilling the purpose without harming the nature and thus environment but present method that uses tree as a whole to make papers is one of the responsible factor for the reduction of trees and the consequences.  Today science has reached to a very advanced stage then why not it develops a method that can be very close to nature, which can save the trees, which can mitigate the environmental disasters.
It’s in fact the moral duty of all the human-beings on this planet to contribute to the environment by changing their practices, habits, uses and to serve this mother Earth which has served us, our forefathers, and their forefathers without asking any thing in return.
Reducing the consumption of paper is just one method to serve, believe me we can do a lot of things to save the nature, this will be our try to pay homage (we cannot repay the debt) to this planet, to this mother Earth and to the environment it provided to us.
